Easy, Fast, Secure: IDCheck Protects Against Fraud with a Simple QR Code
You will now need to complete IDCheck when visiting Shared Branch locations to access an out-of-state credit union. With account takeover fraud on the rise, we’ve added new ID-proofing security when accessing your account in person at Shared Branch locations. IDCheck is a new fraud prevention measure that allows us to make certain it’s YOU trying to access your account, not an imposter.
How it Works
Scan the QR code located in the branch. You can also visit verify.coop.org.
- Select “MembersFirst CU” or your credit union’s name from a drop-down list.
- Enter your member number and the last four digits of your social security number.
- Upload a photo of your ID.
- Take a selfie.
Tip: Save your validation for an even quicker experience next time! - Show your one-time passcode to the teller (passcode is valid for 20 minutes).
When Will I Be Required to Use IDCheck?
Members with Georgia IDs:
If you use a Shared Branch location while traveling out of state, a teller will identify and authenticate your Georgia ID in the branch through a QR code and one-time passcode multi-factor authentication verification. This additional layer of authentication will only be used for shared branching transactions.
Example: a MembersFirst Credit Union member is traveling to Florida and goes to a shared branch location with a Georgia Driver’s License. He would need to use the IDCheck before completing his transaction.
Members with an Out-of-State ID:
If you are visiting a shared branch location in a state that is different than the state of your ID, a teller will identify and authenticate your ID in the branch through a QR code and one-time passcode multi-factor authentication verification.
Example: a MembersFirst Credit Union member lives in Florida and has a Florida ID. He goes to a Shared Branch in Florida to access his MembersFirst account and provides his Florida Driver’s License. He is not required to complete IDCheck.
